New Zealand - North Island
New Zealand's North Island is a fascinating place to visit - between the steaming mud pools of Rotorua, the largest crater lake in the world (Lake Taupo) and the abundance of Maori culture - you won't find it hard to occupy your time! As a result of volcanic activity over millions of years, the North Island's landscape is not only rich and fertile but interesting and dramatic - with sights such as the extraordinary 'moonscape' of Mt Ruapehu.
